
Dr. Andrew Duong, MD will be joining Marin Eyes full time in 2026 following completion of his residency at the University of Southern California Roski Eye Institute (USC) / Los Angeles General Medical Center, one of the nation’s busiest and most respected training programs. Dr. Duong is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with expertise in cataract surgery (including premium lens technology such as toric, multifocal, and extended-depth-of-focus lenses), minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), pterygium surgery, and blepharoplasty. He also provides medical management of a variety of conditions including diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, and ocular surface disease.
Dr. Duong earned his MD from Weill Cornell Medical College where he was awarded the Edward Norton Prize in Ophthalmology and holds a BA with Honors in Human Biology from Stanford University. Dr. Duong’s achievements have been recognized nationally. He was one of ten residents selected nationwide for the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Resident Excellence Award. He was also selected to attend the Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Resident Retreat, one of the most prestigious honors for rising leaders in the field.
He is an active contributor to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, where he has served as an instructor for multiple educational courses, presented through the Young Ophthalmologist Program, and authored multiple publications in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Duong is committed providing timely care to all referrals using a collaborative approach. He values the relationships he develops with his colleagues and patients and treats each patient like he would his own family.
Dr. Duong is elated to return to the Bay Area and to serve Marin County, the surrounding San Francisco Bay Area, and beyond. Outside of medicine, Dr. Duong enjoys theatre, tennis, exploring the outdoors, learning languages (Spanish, French, Vietnamese), and traveling. We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Duong to the Marin Eyes team and look forward to the expertise, compassion, and energy he will bring to our patients and community.
