Doctor Campbell was born in Tacoma, Washington and grew up in Seattle. A graduate of Stanford University, he attended medical school at the University of Washington in Seattle. He completed his medical internship and specialty training at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. Board Certified in Ophthalmology in 1980, he joined Doctors Denicke and McBain in San Rafael in 1979. Since 1987, Doctor Campbell has been lecturing and teaching phacoemulsification cataract surgery to ophthalmology residents at California Pacific Medical Center and to other practicing surgeons. He has been selected as a member of the “Best Doctors in America” each year from 2003 through 2009.
Dr. Campbell is married with three grown children and three step children. An aficionado of Argentine Tango, Dr. Campbell and his wife, Debbie Goodwin, enjoy teaching and performing the tango together. Debbie is a choreographer and dancer (www.TangoConFusion.com). Dr. Campbell’s other interests include photography, videography and video editing.
