Glaucoma Detection & Treatment

What is Glaucoma?

Glaucoma is a condition that damages the optic nerve and can lead to vision loss if not treated. It is often associated with increased eye pressure, but not always.

In many cases, glaucoma develops slowly and without noticeable symptoms, which is why regular eye exams are so important.

How We Detect Glaucoma?

Glaucoma is often found during a routine eye exam before symptoms begin.

We use advanced testing to evaluate your eye health, including:
• Eye pressure measurement
• Optic nerve evaluation
• Visual field (peripheral vision) testing
• Imaging of the optic nerve (OCT)

Treatment Options

If glaucoma is detected, treatment is focused on protecting your vision.

Options may include:
• Prescription eye drops
• Laser treatment
• Surgical procedures (if needed)

Many patients do very well with early detection and treatment.
